Poste proposé : Public Affairs Lead

In collaboration with the head of external affairs you will be responsible:

  • For adaptation and implementation of the global therapeutic area Public Affairs (PA) strategy and implementation and execution of Country PA strategy plans.
  • Prioritize and develop focused plans with the key external stakeholders by understanding their objectives/priorities, key initiatives, health and policy positions, strengths and sources of leverage, capacity building needs, and opportunity areas for collaboration.
  • Ensure and drive consistent engagement with PA stakeholders with compliance, transparency, and best practice stakeholder management principles. Enhance our company reputation and represent One Sanofi to our partners.
  • Work with the regional PA partner to understand the global PA strategy, corporate positioning of the Franchises, and global business objectives of products. Adapt and translate the strategy based on market realities and priorities, to define high priority tactics and PA campaigns that impact the environment and seize opportunities for success. This involves:
  • Identify the market access barriers at the time of launch and start working a few years before to define a public affairs strategy that will allow the right engagement with all key stakeholders to shape the environment in the best possible way to secure patient’s access to treatment.
  • Understand and adapt the existing policy around the treatment of that disease
  • Work with medical & scientific societies to understand the current standard of treatment and the needs of the medical community to bring a solution to patients.
  • Work with the patient community to understand the challenges they have when living with that condition and their request for more impactful treatments.
  • Work with communication to start bringing the right messages into this process and help them raise awareness on the burden of that disease and bring to the political agenda the unmet need that society still has in that particular disease.
  • Develop, track and report metrics that assess the impact of country plans
  • Collaborate with country colleagues including other External Affairs functions, Business Unit and Franchise leadership and staff, Medical, Compliance, Legal and other local colleagues to ensure integrated efforts in support of country priorities.
  • Analyze Country market PA trends, issues, and environmental factors to anticipate opportunities and risks of importance to Sanofi business results. Develop plans and take appropriate actions and provide feedback to the regional PA Business Partner on those areas that need to be taken into account by the regional PA strategy.
Profil recherché pour le poste : Public Affairs Lead
  • Experience in public affairs and patient advocacy, market-shaping strategies, advocacy campaigns, or advanced responsibilities in an industry public affairs role.
  • Knowledge of and existing relationships with key external PA stakeholders in the country market
  • Ability to influence in a proactive, objective and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to drive projects and initiatives and execute successfully in a complex environment, working with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Proven track record successfully executing complex projects and initiatives, on time, within budget, with measurement of results
  • Good understanding of stakeholder engagement techniques, policy-making processes and stakeholders, pharmaceutical and healthcare business, country-specific PA community and healthcare landscape
  • Ability to develop successful partnerships with local non-governmental influencers
  • Ability to drive local alignment, execution, buy-in across and within the country BU leadership teams through effective interpersonal relations and networking
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to be a good team player and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders from different functions
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally

Formation / Expérience professionnelle nécessaire

  • Bachelor’s Degree (accredited four-year college or university)
  • Post-graduate degree in public health or health care related field /Doctorate degree (e.g., M.D., PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) will be a plus
  • Years of experience: 5 to 10 years’ experience needed in public affairs and/or advocacy roles/ pharma business experience to be also considered when advocacy role was an important part of the activity (vaccines, rare disease, hospital products)
  • Languages: Fluent English, Arabic and French (oral & written),
